Liki Privacy Policy

Introduction
Liki is developed by Ectopistes LLC. It is designed to help you keep track of the relationships that matter to you without monitoring them for you. Privacy is part of that design.
This policy describes the privacy architecture intended for Liki’s upcoming beta and launch. Liki stores information on your device and, when iCloud sync is enabled, uses Apple’s private iCloud / CloudKit infrastructure to keep it in sync across your Apple devices. Ectopistes does not operate a separate relationship-data service.
Information Liki stores and syncs
You choose what to enter: Connection names, Section names and organization, and dates of In Person, Call, and Message interactions. Liki stores this information on your device. When iCloud sync is enabled, this product data and related state needed to preserve your experience across devices also synchronize through your private iCloud account.
Liki is designed to remain usable with its local data when network access is temporarily unavailable, with synchronization resuming when connectivity and Apple’s service are available.
Some information stays specific to each device, such as onboarding completion, collapsed Section preferences, and internal information used to maintain local app data. These are not part of Liki’s cross-device product sync. Device backups are separate, as explained below.
Information Liki does not access or monitor
Liki relies on manual entry. It does not monitor calls or messages, access message contents or phone logs, track location, automatically detect interactions, or access your contacts or address book. It does not access another person’s device or accounts. Only the information you enter about a connection is stored—not the calls or messages themselves.
Liki does not use advertising identifiers or behavioral advertising. It has no advertising and currently uses no third-party analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs. No Liki or Ectopistes account is required; iCloud sync uses your Apple account. Apple’s own platform services are described below.
Sharing and selling data
Ectopistes does not sell Liki user data or operate a separate relationship-data backend. Liki does not send your relationship data to Ectopistes through a separate Ectopistes server or database. When iCloud sync is enabled, that data is stored and synchronized through Apple’s private CloudKit infrastructure.
Liki does not send your relationship data to third-party advertising or analytics providers. Apple processes the synced data under its own privacy policies and your Apple account and device settings.
Apple and platform services
Apple may process information to provide iCloud / CloudKit synchronization, download and distribute Liki, and manage device backups. Apple may also process information through TestFlight if you test Liki there, or through purchase services if Liki offers purchases in the future. This does not mean Liki currently offers paid purchases.
If you use TestFlight, Apple collects beta usage and crash information and shares it with Ectopistes, along with feedback you choose to send. Tester details may also be shared depending on how you were invited. This platform-provided information is separate from Liki’s relationship-data sync and can help us understand problems with the beta. See TestFlight & Privacy.
Apple’s handling of platform information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy, applicable service terms, and your Apple account and device settings. Ectopistes does not control Apple’s platform-level processing or retention.
Data retention and deletion
Deleting a Connection or interaction in Liki removes it from Liki’s active data. When sync is enabled, that change is intended to synchronize across your devices as they connect to Apple’s service. Changes may not appear everywhere immediately.
Deleting the app from one device does not necessarily delete copies synchronized through your iCloud account or stored on other devices. Ectopistes does not maintain a separate server copy of your Liki relationship data that you need to ask us to delete.
Apple-managed device and iCloud backups may contain earlier copies and have separate retention behavior. Deleting an item in Liki does not necessarily remove it from existing backups. We cannot guarantee Apple’s deletion or backup timing. See Apple’s guidance on managing backups.
Children
Liki is a general-purpose relationship app and is not specifically directed to children. Ectopistes does not operate an account system or separate server database containing the relationship information users enter into Liki.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Liki evolves. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision.
